I've finally assembled the manifold. It has no butterfly plates and has been heavily ported, polished and fitted with a 75mm throttle body. The valve covers are finished as well and needs to be picked-up. I'll provide pictures of those tomorrow. Total cost of this manifold including polishing and throttle body = $1275

25psi....dats cwazy. I'll be lucky if I can squeek 10psi reliably out of my stock C20GET.

I know we've seen a 650hp CA18DET but that was in a Silvia. Has there ever been a Sentra with that much hp? I'm picturing the front end tearing off the car and the front wheels and motor screaming down the track :chainsaw

Quote »is that a BYP job?
Just the physical Plenum; all porting was done by me and the polishing was done by Miami polishing and it wasn't cheap to the tune of $300. Throttle body had to be modded and was fitted with one of my Taurus SHO throttle position sensors.

Quote »who wants a fwd
I do! No one has embarked on this car's platform which is pretty stout and just as stable at high speeds than a RWD. They prefer the B13, B14 and B15s which are heavier and can readily accept the SR20 in which I could care less for. Which would you rather loose control in with that much power, FWD or RWD? I prefer the FWD. I own a couple of 240s and have sold a few and I still prefer the FWD because they are easier to work on. I can pull my transmission in 40 minutes flat; how fast can you pull yours;) ? My FWD trannies are in abundance and at 400whp, have yet to break one in 7 years; you get where I'm going with this. I just dare to be different and unique and so far (as much as I know) I am the only person in the U.S. sporting a CA18DET in a FWD B12 sentra with helical LSD.

As big as it is, I'd say that throttle body is probabally of off a DC-12!!! Hehehe, but seriously, nice work Dee.

im picking up my ca18 tommarrow, its got a pretty modded intake manifold on it. its got a surge tank and a 2nd set of injectors welded onto the stock manifold. i think ima remove it and get the surge tank welded onto a stock manifold, cuz i dont want the second injectors. too much computer crap for em.

c'mon dee you cant pst those photos and not all the info required!!!!

is the Intake Plenum generic? or was it made custom for you?or was it one of these from BYP??:

Stage 1 "Mild" INT-01 $400.00 Stage 2 "Track" INT-02 $650.00 Race "Gungu" RINT-03 $1,100.00

what did you need to send them for them to fabricate it?

more info please...

i am guessing that it is the Stage 1, and is this for FWD as the FWD and RWD TB's are on ooposite sides of the intake manifold.

It was actually made custom for me nearly 2 years ago and only the plenum chamber was custom made. The remainder of the parts is still stock CA18 polished ($300) and ported heavily to match the head by me. The throttle body cost me $200 and it's a 75mm Edelbrock unit for a ford mustang and it also had to be modified with a TPS from my old Ford Taurus SHO. All the machine work on the plenum including tapping for vacuum fitting came up to $750. It's actually Gungu for the CA18 because anything bigger would just be ridiculous and may even affect performance. It's bigger than stock and the the T/body is angled and will affect the swirl of air into the plenum and into the engine. Like I said, butterfly plates were scrapped and holes were sealed. BTW, this for the FWD.

thanks for the info,

how the back of YOUR plenum look? can the throttle body be switched to either side?

does it have Velocity stacks in it? (that would be awsome)

can you take a couple pics of the inside?

and close ups of where the original two piece CA manifold bolts to the BYP Intake Plenum? (or is it welded on)

and do you know what the various stages of the BYP intake plenums look like??

and finally it looks f'ing awsome!!!!

i love it, and want one...

i think the Stage 1 is just the intake PLenum, in that case you jsut get a OE intake manifold, cut off the OE plenum, and weld flanges onto it to bolt it to the BYP intake PLenum, then you just get a throttle body, port and modify the injector ports/bowls and get it polished yourself...

looks awsome and for $400 for the basic plenum only, not a bad future upgrade either, pplus its got that engine BLING look to it, i love it.

imagine fo you could adapt something like this to work:

these are ITB's for the CA18 for sale now on auctions.yahoo.co.jp

from what i can translate online its 41mm ITB's for Fuel Injection CA18's,

you'll somehow want those velocity stacks inside hte Intake PLenum, which may mean cuttin it in half to weld them into place,

BUT man oh MAN would this be an amazing set up, imagine the sound of the ITB's in that intake PLenum ontop of the turbo spooling..

i really need to hit a lotto :D

I'll tell you right now Ryan that that one is old school and had to be done in that fashion to fit in my engine bay. His new designs are awesome and he (Harry) is very meticulous about how his manifolds not only turn out, but how they influence the performance of an individual's motor. I can get you some pics of his regular design and you can judge for yourself or I can give you the # to the shop and you can speak with him directly and discuss your interests (305) 249-4979 and tell him "Dee" referred you. You may even call one day while I'm down there working, so check him out if nothing else.

This would indeed be something very sick to have hidden in your intake plenum.
