Does this manifold have ports for the iacv/aac? Vacuum nipples on the back? Did you ever flow test it?

Pretty amazing how I found it too. I typed http://www.ebay.com into my address bar. Then, I searched for "CA18DET intake manifold", and VIOLA! It was the ONLY item that came up!! How neat is that JK man.

Awww, don't be hurt. I was totally screwing with you. I'm a total d-bag, so do like 90% of the guys on here do: ignore Rico.

Welcome to NICO btw.

thanks, and i know you were just playin'

so, is there a limit to the stock intake and TB? This thing has a huge plenum for a 1.8L...what would you say, for guys making over 350whp?

dunno what the stock intake manifold limit is or the throttle body, but the most impressive street ca18 I've seen ran a 20g turbo & stock intake. Engine dyno'd something like 496hp and a very impressive 474 ft-lbs torque. Apparently this motor was not setup for 'peak hp numbers' or 8000+rpm performance. Those that took the time to dyno a throttle body swap convinced me to look somewhere elsewhere for a power gain.

If you have modest power goals (and an even more modest budget...like me) you can always add a KA24E (apparently, some folks have used a KA24DE, but I have only done the former upgrade, so I have no info on the latter) port match the throttle body plenum on the intake manifold and get a little more flow. Also, a KA24E MAF is a nice idea as well since we are on the subject...

well i put a larger throttle body in my SRT and i relaly didnt notice much performance but drivability was vastly increased. just getting off the line at stoplights took very little throttle input. and it spooled the turbo slightly faster for more low end torque. i just noticed it for driving around. btw i went from a 53mm to a 60 mm.

sounds good, but it looks like the ca has a stock TB of ~ 55mm? Is this wrong? In this case, only the 60mm ka24de would be an upgrade... Maybe i'm not reading the picture right....

all KA's use the same size throttle body (60mm) just the orientation of the pulley for twin cam and single cam is different. single cam ka24e is a much more "bolt on" process. the ka24de you have to modify some stuff. they all physically bolt onto the manifold.

thanks -

yeah - i'm retarded - the picture shows a ka24 maf ~ 50 - not a TB.

sounds like a nice, cheap swap.
