OK...I have been checking this out, and the only thing I am concerned about is the vaccum routing and what-not. I have seen a few manifolds, and been impressed with the cars they are on alot. Mark at Titan is supposed to be able to do these for around 450 or so. I have to try and reach him monday morning. If there is anyone out there that has a short runner intake manifold on the KA, let me know what I can expect when trying to bolt this thing on. Are the vacuum lines going to be a ***** or what? What about the low-end loss? Not that I really care, I like alot of top end anyway. The dispalement should take car of me on bottom end. What were the most noticeable differences from doing this?

Lets make this post constructive. AND...by the way-i dont hear that "just search" crap...i did ...and didnt find what I was looking for. Later---Im really looking for Jay to speak up on this...i think hes got one.Later

You'll lose low end torque, as far as vacuum goes, it all just depends on how the vacuum is setup on the new intake.

what about just porting the current intake manifold same gain, half the cost

porting the stock manifold will not net the same gains as a short runner manifold. it won't even come close.

if you ask me, i think the ka could really benefit from a short runner manifold. i think the topend gains would well outweigh whatever loss you would have on the low end.

no, but I think that the sr20 greddy style one would work with some modifications, and it might be easier/better.if I had more cash I'd try that first.

I've been thinking about making a custom intake manifold too.. It woudnt hurt having more top-end power...I mean eventhough my KA is now turboed, I can still feel that most if its torque/power are produced below ~5000rpm.But I still couldnt find anyone who makes custom intake manifold for KAs yet..

heres my friends daytona. he cut the stock intake mani' down and welded a bigger plenum. this car has a 2.5L, i dont think by going with a short runner intake will lose that much low end torque. http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/507333

I was lookin at some other forums and found this... its a blank intake manifold of sorts... 180$ you would have to fab up some runners and what not but it would be pretty sweet looking... The guy who made that is supposedly working on a KA intake manifold...

after I get it all running on mine, ill start looking into making one that has equal length runners that protrude into a plenum that splits in half, that way you can weld inside of it. probobly for a bigger throttle body also........ just a thought

Im building an intake manifold for the ka24e right now (90% completed). I have the flange and the runners completed, this is for an itb setup, but ill try get some pics up soon. I will be building a plenum for it as well, eventually. Anyone know where to get nice pre-made plenums? Something like the one Prok0 posted, but maybe a bit more lightweight? (different material). I may build mine out of fiberglass or similar.

then i gotta make one for my de.

yeah but you wouldn't be able to get inside it to smooth it out where you welded the runners on.Have to cut and reweld.
