So I just went to a custom exhaust shop and they told me they could just pull my y-pipe instead of me spending my money on the RL y-pipe. That is if I want my exhaust louder after they do a catback for me. Has anyone done this, or know if it's a legit thing to do? Lol. I live in MA and I guess they don't physically check for cats unless there's an engine code. Any input appreciated, thanks.

As long as there is flex tubing for engine torque twist on the exhaust, this should be fine. The RL y-pipe is bolt on, no fab and you know it works and has results. If they can fab and install with the correct flex tubing for less than racingline delivered and installed, you might consider it an option.

Okay cool, that's what's I'm thinking too. I'm just gonna do the cat back first and that might be good enough for now. I'd ultimately like the RL y-pipe but like you said to bolt on so that can happen whenever. Thanks!
