I have a stock KA motor with an intake. I just bought a 2.5" Megan Racing muffler and was going to have a place do custom piping for me from the cat back. I took it in and the guy told me there was no way I could do 2.5" piping because I would have no back pressure. I know I'm going to lose a little low end, but I thought I would pick up high end. Is this guy and idiot or am I? What does anyone recommend and is it worth the loss of low end?

the guy is an idiot. There is dyno charts of 3" catback on ka loosing no tq and making strong gains on top end. Its all in your preference, If you want to improve on the ka's stong point get 2.5" if you want some extra hp where it lacks go a little bigger.

Tell him he's exactly right, and that's why you want it done. Then inform him that he's an idiot, and should probably take at least one mechanics class before dispensing advice on the topic. You won't lose anything over the stock exhaust, either.
