Hey guys I wanted to get an exhaust for my car by the end of this month but not looking ot spend too much.

I am thinking of going Magnaflow (part #14814) which is about 260 for two muffler.

I will also be getting a resonator put in which is about 70 bucks.

I was wondering what shop you guys went to and how much did you pay for your custom piping to get done.

This will be a cat-back and not axle-back.

Thanks, I will be saving that number and calling first thing on Monday.

I called a few spot and one of them quoted me 700+ for the set up I mention. Now that is way too much.

Possible to maybe get a rough estimate by how much they would charge?

Also what is the average price for custom exhaust?

I'm not sure the price, but if $700 is to much for an exhaust, you may want to consider a 3rd rate shop. SFR is a first rate metalworking shop, whos quality is second to none. With quality however, comes price. Best of luck.

Yeah, SFR is too much for this job... kinda like using a 12 gauge to kill a mouse.... A full exhaust from a custom shop shouldnt cost more than $400 ish... then your parts you are adding....

ahhh, I guess I will be waiting till the 2nd week of next month to get it done then. I was trying to get something a bit cheaper and sound different from Stillen or Nismo.

Did not want to pay the price of a Stillen or Nismo cat-back system, thinking that I can save if I do custom.

I don't think SFR will be to much. I don't think $700 is to much for a cat back. However, I'm a quality parts guy.

i was quoted for $300 for pipes and labor here in ny. i just need to provide the mufflers.

off topic:i was wondering if it was possible to covert from custom to stock again ? also using non-stainless steel pipes wouldn't that rust pretty quickly ? would i have to re-do my exhaust system every now and then ?
