I purchased these less than a year ago:

They're apparently pretty cheaply made, because they are already chipping, and it's starting to look very noticeable and cheap.

I'm thinking about getting these instead:

My question is for anyone who has these...

how do they hold up...are the satin colored sides known to chip?

If you notice the difference in the 2, the first ones have 2 open spaces above and below the Z...

the 2nd ones are just full circular pieces with no openings...does this pose a problem when replacing the custom nissan emblem?

Cheapest I've seen for the 2nd emblems are $70 before S&H...

kind of a rip off, but if I can't get them anywhere else and they actually hold up decently, i'll get 'em.

What do y'all think about the emblem on the right:

I think it's kinda cool, but I don't know how it'd look on my blue Z...might stick out a little too much and not really match the rest of the car.

Suggestions/opinions?

Dang...no one?

Let's make it a little simpler then.

I've decided on these:

One question:

Where's the cheapest place to buy these?

This JDM crap is selling for $80 - $100 all over the internet...

for a couple of pieces of plastic...you kidding me?!

Someone is making a killing.

Cheapest I saw on Ebay was $82 with S&H

WHERE can I get these at a decent price?

Here's a picture online...

I think they look good...just ridiculously priced because of the "JDM" associated with it.

Oh wow...custom made by the japanese market for a couple of pieces of plastic...that'll be $100 please!

Give me a break!

by the way, BlackSmoke...

your paint job looks sick in that picture...looks like it's still wet! must be the way the sun was hittin' it that particular day.

You wax it a lot?

It's cool how good different color paints show up according to the weather or the way the sun and light hits the paint

usually towards the end of the day, when the sun is going down or when it's real cloudy...my paint shows up real good.

you get for what you pay for, try to avoid nissan courtesy parts cause i hear some of their emblems go to hell after a short time. As for opinions and suggestions, the beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Pick whatever suits you. But that black emblem doesn't look too shabby either.

I would just shave the emblem right off the car like I did. Youll thank me later for doing it.....cleans up the whole car.

different strokes for different folks i guess

If was going for the whole smooth, shaved look...

I'd definitely start with the door handles first...

but i'm past highly customizing a car...i'm more practical now and don't have the time or money to do that stuff.

for those of you who are thinking of doing it, this looked like a good deal, and was an early idea of mine...... http://www.thezstore.com/page/...-1036

And as far as courtesy parts - they sent me the mimic fairlady emblem when i paid for the JDM one. poor quality and lead to me changing my mind on even putting a fairlady emblem on the car. LHD = 350z.... although the skyline stuff for the G's, i would do my self if i had one. Looks sweet IMO......

yeah I like the looks of that chrome emblem...

although, I'm going for the "satin" look to match the door handles.

So if you get the actual "JDM" emblems below, which are like $50 each, there should be no problems with the sides of these emblems chipping, right?

That's what happened with the full satin emblems I last purchased off Ebay...not sure if they were JDM or not -doubtful.

Hey iowas300z where did you get that carbon fiber front insert under the grill? That looks super clean especially with the shaved emblems. Nice work.
