Take the dashboard out sand it (60, 100, 200) Skim it with bondo. Sand it wet with 220, 320 400, spray some primer on it. Sand it wet 400 then 600. Fill any pinholes with bondo. Prime it again. Sand it again 400, 600 and 800. check it for pinholes or any other imperfections. Paint it any color you like and post some pictures of it when your done. Thats what I want to do but haven't quite found the time yet

hmmmm for some reason i didnt get a notification for the replies. well anyway i now have in my possesion an extra dashboard to play with. i am going to use ity to make a mold so i can make one out of fiberglass. what do you think lem?

not only that the above method you stated would that be taking the vinyl off then the rest of the padding then your method?

i want to make one out fiberglass, what do you recommend i do first. i started taking some of that padding off. what i plan to do is cover it with aluminum foil so i can make the mold, or am i going about it the wrong way?

but basically i want it to be a custom fiberglass dash. and then once i havethe mold just add or cut stuff off that i want to .

im in the process of getting a digital camera too. so i can have step by step pix of what is being done.i'll be back
