Ok well im thinking about doing a custom setup in the two corners of the trunk. I dont want just bass ive had that and didnt like it. I want OVERALL sound quality. Thinking of doing all the interior speakers and a single sub in the left corner trunk. And the amp on the right corner and or uder the seats "if possible". Now my questions are abnocious because i dont know what im getting into lmao.

1. What are good interior speakers to upgrade too?

2. What would be a good sub amp combo?

3. What size sub would fit flush so it doesn't take up the trunk?

4. Would i need two amps for highs and lows or just a multi channel amp?

5. What kind of box would this be wood or fiberglass, "if fiberglass can i do that myself"????

6. Do i need an aftermarket head unit, if so what is a good one that isn't overpriced?

7. How much would this cost me???

I would be installing and making my own boxes/setup.

I know i am asking some dumb ?'s but i dont know where to purchase this stuff and if it is even possible.

I also am going to Carsile and was going to check out Applebonkers setup bc i would want a similar setup to him.

Thanks in advance for all the help. lol

You need to figure out your budget first, then they can help you figure out what you can get inside that budget.

And dont think about saying "no budget" because you can spend $5k+ doing this if you gave apple or doc your CC!

haha this is true

Ok i am looking at not overdoing this. I just mainly want to add a sub in the back corner with some good sound added so maybe speakers throughout but i have no idea what they would run me thats my problem. I only want something that i can fit into that compartment. Ill prob measure it out all tomm and see and then look some stuff up. I dont wanna go nuts like lbc just said just OVERALL good sound and i would be installing so it wouldnt be as much money.

I also was hoping someone knew a good place to get these products at a good price, bc i know i heard getting them from online you can get jipped if you dont know your stuff

like would this work for the interior.....i just went to crutchfield and plugged in my car n this one has the best cutomer rating

LBC is right, it is very easy to spend a lot of money doing this.

My fiberglass work was the first time I've ever tried, so it is doable. However, it will take some time. And the hardware for my setup (the complete custom trunk and fiberglass stuff) probably cost me around $400-500. That's not including any of the actual speakers/amps. It also took me a few months of working weekends in spare time to put the whole thing together. I probably could have done it all in one week if I had the whole week off, but that wasn't really an option for me.

As far as a budget goes, you can probably plan on getting the following items:

New headunit (maybe $600ish for a good one)New front speakers ($300-600, depending on how nice you want to go: this is also assuming only replacing the fronts)Amp for speakers ($200-300 maybe)Sub (good subs start at probably about $250)Amp for sub (greatly depends on sub, but can run up to $750ish)Wiring and other install gear ($200+)

As you can see, the cost adds up greatly. It can be done for cheaper than this, but to get into the high-end quality, this is probably the cheapest you can go. Good setups can be had for less, but it will take a lot more searching around and potentially being willing to get items from dealers that aren't certified (read: no warranty).

If you're looking to spend in this range, the dealer I've bought most of my gear from is in NJ. It might only be about an hour or so away from you (not entirely sure exactly where either of you are located). But I can definitely put you in contact with him if you get to that point. He is a true mobile audio guru and can certainly let you demo some gear to see what your tastes exactly are.

I would love to know the location of the dealer in NJ. I am heading north to see the rents this summer and maybe work on an install. Want to start my pairing a sub amp with my dx812 which sounds amazing just with stock speakers.

Been a bit busy as of late, sorry I didn't respond. I've never personally been to his place, so I don't know the exact location. He also does basically all his work by appointment. Send me an email (in my profile) if you are interested in getting contact info. Then you can give him a call and talk some things through/see what he has to offer. I will warn you that he doesn't sell $100 budget-line products, so for that you might as well go to BB or Crutchfield or whatever. He's got a ton of high-end gear, and he's demoed most of his product lines in his own vehicle, so first-hand experience with the products isn't an issue.
