Hey guys, saw the custom pod kit & reminded me of the guy who did the climate control in the under dash. Anyone remember his thread or contact info? I'm trying to figure out how much that would cost me.

Thanks!

, well I can't really tell you that. What I can tell you is that it was a custom one off just for me. A buddy of mine makes things like this, triple gauge pods using your center vent area, vented hoods and is condsidering turbo manifolds for the KADE motor.

This heater relocation piece would be a rather pricey item he was saying last time we talked about it. But what do you expect when things are custom made, not massed produced.

besides making a custom mounting location, is the actuall relocating process difficult? like how hard is it to move the wires, or extend them if needed? i have thought about moving it to the glove compartment or possibly in the arm rest if it would fit.

Hey man.

Well it's not overly hard to do the relocation. You do have to lengthen the wires but that's just cutting and adding the new piece on for each wire. As well there is a metal cable that attaches to the switch for the hot/cold settings. For that you have to get another little piece of cable, attach it to the other cable and basicly re-route everything over towards the driver's side. Then just attach everything and make sure your metal cable is tight enough and the hot/cold works. Then secure everything.

It's more time consuming then anything else but can be done.

I can get more of these things so if anyone is interested let me know here or email me at [email protected] and we'll talk.

Take care.

I moved mine to the din pocket below the radio and didn't have to lengthen anything, that frees up the space above the radio for gauges. I like it because I still get to keep my hvac vents and my radio.

I got to keep all that stuff too.

Moving it to where I did allows the whole center console area to be opened up for gauges, boost controllers, tv screens and so on.

I may be able to get a couple more of these and 2 or 3 center vent pods for you guys if your interested.

Here's a pic of the gauge pod,

All you do is pop out your center vent piece and put this in it's place. As most of Im sure only keep the heat on defrost/floor it's no biggie to lose the center vents. If you do put the heat or cold to vent, you still have the driver/passenger side ones and the ones by the steering wheel. It also won't affect the gauges to have heat or cold blowing on them.

Anyway if your interested in either or both email me at [email protected] and we'll talk.

Take care.
