Ok, I know some of you have this so if you could offer me your knowledge and insight on this it would be very helpful.

I am already aware that some insurance companies (Progressive, Statefarm, etc) offer Custom Parts and Equipment insurance that you may add on to your insurance policy, so I was wonder which companies do you think are the best (and cheapest) for this kind of insurance. I will also be bundling my homeowners and additional car insurance on the policy so also any info on who has the best multi-policy discounts would be great as well.

My car wont need to be insured for some astronomical amount since it wont be a fully built show car, just enough to cover my butt in the event of a theft or accident and the damage to parts exceed the value of my absurdly low KBB amount.

Although the bundling idea sounds great in theory, it's really nothing more than a marketing ploy in most cases.

I've always had my customs and classics insured with Hagerty. Most "regular" insurance companies will typically buy a policy through the same underwriter that does Hagerty's policies, and pass it on to you (with an up-charge).

The issue with Haggerty is that most of our board members can't meet the mileage restrictions since their 240 is their daily. I do recommend Haggerty if you can though.

Fun fact: Haggerty does not back their own line of insurance. When I was working for OneBeacon, we underwrote for Haggerty.

Almost none of the "commercial name" companies do.

I think my policies are underwritten by Essentia.

I did a free quote from Hagerty and if you can fit certain requirements, its pretty cheap depending on what you are insuring or the use of the vehicle. Seems like a good way to insure a track car.

Or others.

My Vert is under Hagerty now, hard to beat $180/year for full coverage.

I'm switching to Hagerty this year. NY State, $500 deductibles, 2500 miles driven.

Allstate add-on to current daily driver policy = $35 / month, no collision, no theft
Hagerty = $295 / year = $29 / month, includes collision & theft, covered for $10,000, parked in a garage

Every year the car gets more and more done to it, I can't go without collision & theft any longer.

Yeah I have a daily Mazda Pro5, so all of my 3 S13's could have super cheap coverage but they may be restricted to driving to certain events or just local status.

I spaced it earlier, but here's a little "hook up" for folks looking to get coverage through Hagerty... I believe they offer our members a discount.
