LOL.

So you're telling me that I can go down to the muffler shop and get an exhaust put together (probably crush bent)by somebody that was only required to have a high school welding class to get a job.

And that exhaust would be better than any exhaust that HKS, Blitz, GReddy, GP Sports, Jun, whoever else.. THAT SPECIALIZES IN PERFORMANCE?

LOL.

I will admit, there won't be much of a difference, but I'll take my name-brand, R&D'd exhaust over a "Jim and Bob's Muffler Special."

I had my exhaust done in 3in with mandrel bends at local muffler shop and could not be happier. The two guys that run the place were great and really friendly and it only cost me 85 dollars. They also welded on my after market muffler which I plan on uprading to an apexi N1 universal canister, since this is just an ebay replica. I just sat there and watched the guy work, I even took my test pipe and down pipe to show them what I needed it to bolt up to and they used the old flange from the factory piping after they cut it bigger for the 3in. I would say go for but go for with a shop that someone recommends since this is how I found out about this place.

See...Jon thinks like I do ;) I wasnt talking about crush bent, I'll be doing mine with 3 inch mandrel bent pipe, a dynomax ultra flo oval muffler as the main muffler and a dynomax ultra flo bullet as the resonator. I havent decided on which catalyic converter yet (yeah...I'm trying to stay legal for some stupid reason :)) I have it all priced out and it comes in well under 300 for the tubing and mufflers...the best part is that it should be quieter than most aftermarket exhausts (or so I hope). Oh...and there will be no shiny tip, just a 3 inch pipe sticking out from underneath the bumper :D

Er, not only a muffler is needed, but a resonator, which will get rid of nasty sounds.

Yeha...didnt you read the part about using the ultra flow bullet as the resonator? both the bullet and the oval are straight through design with perforated tubing through them, none of that louvered crap...the bullet is basically nothing more than a glasspack and is effectively EXACTLY what most companies use as a resonator. Trust me, I've thought this one through pretty well...I want a quiet free flowing exhaust and I believe this is what will get me there. Try reading better next time :D

One80, let me know what you find.. I live in the frisco area too and am also about to put on a catback. I'm looking at the Gp sports exhaust, which is prob the 'cheapest', quality name brand exhaust around.. about 400 shipped.

Im sure a company has some. Ken at Enjuku said that the actual companies havent sent any new shipments stateside (they are located in japan). At least this is how in interpret it. If there are absolutely none in America then that is pretty weird.
