fyi, cusco cages are not recognized by most racing bodies, they are mostly chassis stiffening devices, not safety cages.in case you run SCCA events, etc-Enzo

They are available on the products page of the website. As far as seats and harnesses are concerned I am working on getting a supplier but nothing is final yet.

cusco cage is made for rhd so it blocks the glovebox in a lhd, and the braces are designed to protect the right side of the car. nor does it clear a sunroof. *looks outside at his car with kirkracing rollbar* yep i think kirkracing makes a s14 bar. a roll bar is not a giant strut bar, a roll bar is a saftey device. saftey 21 bar is made out of DOM steel tubing, as are both autopower and kirkracing, so it will weigh the same if not more.

bottom line -

if you buy a cusco roll bar for anything but a 100% show car, you are a tool.

CH makes a good point.

Well, except that tool part. That just makes him look stupid. I can actualy hear Main's opinion changing from here "oh nooo some guy on a car forum thinks i'ma tool! better do what he says!"

Stick to discussing products instead of name calling if you want to be taken seriously

The chromoly ones do, Safety 21 models are black mild steel. The Chromoly ones own though, light as hel

Got news for you, they block the glovebox on a RHD as well. The six-point in my wife's 180SX makes it impossible to get it open more than a crack. The sunroof thing is spot on though, that sucks:(

does anyone make just a harness bar for the 240? i checked both of these sites, http://www.kirkracing.com and http://www.autopowerindustries.com ,one is under constuction and the other doesn't have a roll cage with a harness bar applicable to the 240.

they both do. call them. they will make whatever you want, they are just fab shops. mine is kirkracing, 4 point roll bar with harnessbar and 2 diagonal crossbraces. im sure autopower could do the same.

madscientist, do you trust the heim joints? that just dosent seem like it would hold up in a serious crash. and do you have the kind where it goes through the dash or the kind with that bends around the dash? because all that excessive bending is not nearly as structurally sound as an arm bent only once and running through the dash.

eh i guess i'm a tool...i only want the cusco 4 point bar...i'm not planning on driving in serious events where they're gonna REQUIRE me to have a cage...i'll probably take it to drift events and maybe some drag racing just to get time slips...im not gonna be entering any SCCA series or anything like that...i hate to say it and i know i'll get flamed but my car is a street car, not a dedicated track car

*edit*

kirk racing dosent have a roll bar listed on their site...i may be interested in it if i cant get a cusco in my car (sunroof)

the roll bar isnt even entirely my idea, my parents want me to have it along w/ harnesses now that i lack airbags...so there we have it, i need a roll bar, preferably 4 point w/ a harness bar...

5 point bar? how does that work? i was under the impression that the number of points meant how many places it attached to the car at?

I trust them. A freind rolled his Hoda at 80 and walked away due to a Cusco rollcage. They are solid. the joints are a solid chunk of metal seated in and welde around the perimeter =beef. If you are concerned about the front bars on the cages that loop around the dash Cusco makes one that follow the A-pillar down to the dash and pass through it. Their catalog shows a 16-point type available, yeah 16. I can't imagine what a jungle gym that must be. I was discussing this thread with the Honda guy that flipped his and he speculated that the reason some of the cages don't meet whatever sanctioning body that was mentioned is because the diagonal bar is angled for a RHD seat configuration. Not sure just sounds like general misinformed lazyness to me. I have used a 6-point in my Silvia and in the wife's 180 and I have a 7-pint in the Skyline with doorbars that run from the main hoop foward to the A-pillar bars at about hip level. Both are the Safety 21 mild steel versions and are solid as a rock. If you are building a serious car cut the BS and weld in cage kit from Summit or Jegs, NHRA legal fer sure:)

I've checked the site and the price list seems to be ok. A GB may be something to consider if there was enough interest. :)
