A while ago I bought a set of Cusco camber plates for my S13 here. The dimensions matched up, everything looked fine, they were the actual S13 camber plates. I double and triple checked that. I got them to replace the standard strut top, which had lost a bolt on the passenger side.

Well, I got a bit busy, and since I have no spring compressor and don't feel like renting one, I just took the front towers off and over to Les Schwab so they could swap it over. Well, that day they called and said that it wouldn't work. He had mentioned something about how it'd be really noisy, and the sizes didn't match up, and it wouldn't easily fit on there. I got the impression the guy didn't know what he was really talking about, so I told him to just give me the struts with the broken tops.

That did give an interesting issue, though. The top of the struts seems to be made of a bunch of rubber and the metal plate that hooks the assembly to the car. These Cusco plates have what look to be two metal discs on the under side, and I'm not sure how they're supposed to hook up.

So was the guy I talked to just out of it, or did I miss a whole chunk of the camber plate assembly? Actually, is there an installation guide online for them anywhere? I'd almost much rather just do it myself than take it elsewhere.

Anybody? The dimensions of the bolts coming up from the plate are the same as stock, I just can't figure out how to get the thing to actually mount up to the shock tower assembly.

The zip ties are merely there to hold together that thing in the middle together, which I gather screws together to secure the top of the strut that protrudes through there.

Here's the bottom of it. Those little metal plates look like they might come apart or something, as they seem to be dual layered. I honestly have no idea, but all I know is that this thing doesn't seem to have any logical way it actually fits to the strut.

Really, any help at all would be appreciated. I'd even be willing to pay shipping if someone wanted to send a copy of the manual that came with these things, if someone still has it sitting around.

Dood, are you trying to put these onto shock/spring struts??? If you are putting on coilovers, you will be fine.

Those cusco ones are made specifically for coilovers only. Coilover springs are much smaller in diameter.

Those will NOT work w/ spring/strut unless you have an adapter - the stock rubber/metal plate spacer will not hold up once you start driving.

The only camber plate I know of w/ such an adapter is the TEIN camber plates.

So either sell your cusco plates & get the tein's, or try to figure out if the tein spacers will work w/ ur camber plate - no one I know of has tried this since it's very hard to get just the spacer and not the whole unit.

Good luck.

That's what I figured. I'll start a thread to sell them. Thanks.
