A while ago I bought a set of Cusco camber plates for my S13 here. The dimensions matched up, everything looked fine, they were the actual S13 camber plates. I double and triple checked that. I got them to replace the standard strut top, which had lost a bolt on the passenger side.
Well, I got a bit busy, and since I have no spring compressor and don't feel like renting one, I just took the front towers off and over to Les Schwab so they could swap it over. Well, that day they called and said that it wouldn't work. He had mentioned something about how it'd be really noisy, and the sizes didn't match up, and it wouldn't easily fit on there. I got the impression the guy didn't know what he was really talking about, so I told him to just give me the struts with the broken tops.
That did give an interesting issue, though. The top of the struts seems to be made of a bunch of rubber and the metal plate that hooks the assembly to the car. These Cusco plates have what look to be two metal discs on the under side, and I'm not sure how they're supposed to hook up.
So was the guy I talked to just out of it, or did I miss a whole chunk of the camber plate assembly? Actually, is there an installation guide online for them anywhere? I'd almost much rather just do it myself than take it elsewhere.
