I got my first Q45 last week. I absolutely love it. The only thing is that I've had an unbelievable amount of bad luck since I got her.

Two days after I picked up the car, the alternator went out. Not really a huge deal, just kinda unfortuitous. Took the better part of three days for me to fix it, but it happens.

Thursday, I find out my grandmother took a turn for the worse in the hospital and won't live past this week. Friday, my brother is driving my mom's car with his girlfriend and their two babies in the car. He's stopped at a red light when a drunk driver in a large truck rear-ends him and drives away. Now my brother is in a lot of pain, can't work, can't drive because the pain medication is so strong, and the police say there is nothing they can do. At least no one else was hurt. Then today I get a traffic ticket and this ill-tempered cop really hassles me and tries to get me on anything he can when I honestly didn't do anything.

So I'm wondering... Is my Q cursed? Has anyone else had a string of bad luck after getting their Q? Post your stories of bad luck since you got your Q.

No, your police are lazy. Did no one record the license number of the drunk driver?

That is the worst part. My brother stood in front of the door to the guy's truck until the guy showed him his driver's license. Plus, the truck was for the guy's painting company so we even know where he works. The police say that since they weren't there to see the accident they can't do anything to the guy. When my brother got out of the hospital he went to file a police report and the cop he talked to joked that he could arrest my brother because technically my brother left the scene of the accident too! He had two babies in the car with him that he had to take to the hospital in addition to needing to take care of his own injuries. I mean... why would anyone say something like that?

You need to go swear a complaint against the driver, and contact an attorney ASAP. Do not wash the car and protect it from the weather until paint samples are taken and damage is documented.

If that were our Police Dpt that guy would be in Jail right now.

Go to the police Dpt and tell them you will be getting an attorney if they don't do something about it quick.

Sorry to hear about your woes. It really sounds like there is some kind of folly going on with your current police matters. I don't know if they just have a bone to pick with you or some one you are affiliated with. When cops messed with us in Brooklyn it was usually because who we where associated with. Never the less they are interfering with a legitimate case here. It also sounds like you live in a smaller town, sorry I'm not sure. It just seems odd that the authorities are treating such a serious situation with no regard to your brother being the victim. If I where you I'd get at the core of why they are doing this.

If I were your brother, I would work on getting your state police involved. He might talk to his insurance agent as well - they can be very helpful in dealing with these issues.

Your Q isn't cursed... you're just going through a rough time. I hope it gets better for you.

One way to get them to act quickly is to expose them....talk to the local media {All 3 of your local television stations news departments} they are always looking for good local stories where they can shine by helping out viewers, and your police department will jump to solve your case in order to keep from being exposed for their incompetence. An hour of your time on the phone calling the television stations should get the ball rolling pretty quickly.

By sueing the plumbing company, you will be able to discover who the driver was and potentially get damages beyond the book value of the car, besides presenting said information to the police.

Everyone should carry a inexpensive fully charged digital camera with them to document such occurences. Almost as necessary as a flare or similar device.

Yeah, its a small town outside Indy. Apparently the guy owns the painting company, but its in another town. We know who it is. But from a legal perspective its impossible to prosecute him for anything. When the cops pulled up the guy's record and found out he had 45 serious prior traffic-related offenses they decided to go try to trick him into confessing. I guess that didn't work because we haven't heard anything about it.

The insurance company is lowballing really bad too. Oh well, everything should work out. My brother has a really good lawyer now and he hasn't signed anything or said anything to the insurance company. Thanks to everyone for your concern and support. You guys rock.
