dam this project is taking for ever, i have like only half the stuff needed to finish, dam here is the new list.

This is what i already have:

JE forged Pistons (84mm 8.5 CR)Total Seal gapless ringsTurbonetics T3/T04E 50 Trim, .63 TurbineSpearco core Intercooler (20x10x3 core)Turbonetics DeltagateHKS 256 IN 264 EX Cams & Adj. Cam GearsHaltech E6k & 3 bar pres. sensorRC Engineering 550cc InjectorsOE main & rod bearings & Gasket KitOE water pump & timing belt.Blitz SSBC Boost ControllerHKS Turbo TimerTutbo XS Tyoe H Blow off valveNGK racing plugs

Thsi is what i still got to get

Crower Forged H Beam RodsGREX 1.6mm Metal HeadgasketWalbro 255lph High pressure intank fuel pumpFuel Management Unit (adjustable fule regulator)MSD DIS 2Oil Cooler & relocator kitTurbo Manifold3" Down Pipe, mid pipeHKS Super Dragger II catback exhaust3 core radiator & 1.1 bar rad capTwin electric 10" fansKA24E 6 puck clutch kit (pressure plate, disk, cover, bearing)

dammmmmmm......... i feel to just sell everything and buy a stock turbo engine and call that it...

i think once i start building up everything i'll be motivated again, but now i feel like i am spending waaaaaaaayy too much money..

with all these mods i think i'll be pushing about 400WHP @ 20 psi even though i think the injectors will not let me get that far...

anyone else have any projects underway?

I think 550cc injectors are good for around 350-375whp in a CA18DET and that's at about or around 85-95% duty cycle, but I could be wrong. This is an Hypothesis and not a calculated response!;)

you guys the stock rods are very stout. save your cash. have them shot peened and polished maybe. dont waste your cash. buy that fmic before you buy rods for sure.

Are you guys trying to build 7 second CA powered engine or pretty powerful street car? the rods are up to the task if you have them strengthened via shotpeening. You're wasting valuable money and time on name brand rods when the stock units are very strong.

you see my problem is that i don't want to have an engine that makes 400 WHP runs great for a few months, then decelerating at high rpms in a top gear and break a rod... i have thought about going with OE rods for some time now, have not decided yet... but i know if i buy the rods i can surpass my 400 hp goal and maybe go for 500+ and run into the 11's and 10's even thouhg i don;t think i can handle that kinda power on trinidads' roads at all.. (very narrow and windy)

aaron my goals far exceed yours. i have big plans for my ca. i actually just got a 150 shot direct port. i am still gonna use teh stock rods. i have seen no reason why you cant use them. hey does that one comapny keep emailing you about cams? ever since that auction he emails me once a week for new cams he got.

The biggest thing is, some of us want things "Now" and not 2-4 months down the road. The only people have CA rods on their shelves is Carrillo rods and they want over a grand for them (I don't think so). Why do you want to buy a set of rods that cost more than a complete engine? Now, ifyou're planning on breaking some records, then some aftermarket rods might be the ticket, but if 400-500whp is your goal I think the stock ones re-shotpeened will suffice. Let's face it, you nor I will be riding around all day/everyday touching peak horsepower and you know the dyno is about the only place in all actuallity that you're going to push that engine that hard. And even during drag racing, you won't be peaking your Hp for not more than 13 seconds or less. There's always a chance that something will let go even with the forged rods, so I guess it's all about luck and fate!

I just recently won an auction on ebay for a set of HKS cam and cam gears! I really needed the cam gears, but will possibly use the cams in my girl's new car and the cam gears in my own and sell her regrinds which worked very well.

The price listed WAS for the manifold, downpipe, and exhaust. If you take a look at the link, it shows the details on the items. I was looking for $1100 for the whole kit, minus the turbo and minus the wastegate. The price is negotiable. The muffler is a Thermal Research and Development. It sounds real beefy when under boost! The piping from the turbo to the muffler is all 3", mostly mandrel bent, and straight through. You can talk to Paul (movingviolation240) to ask how the car sounded to get a 2nd opinion.

$800 for the manifold is kinda steep for me rght now, i am just looking for a manifold for now, i can get a custom 3" exhaust made and buy a GReddy or HKS muffler..

thanks though

The cast was my bottom mount manny that was modified to fit a T3, and then painted black. That has been sold already, sorry. I am negotiable on the manifold price if you take the whole package off my hands. The reason why I initially threw out 800 is b/c I origionally paid $400 to get it off ebay, but then cost me an additional $200 plus a T3 turbo to have it modified to work on the car. I also have pics of what the manifold looked like before it was modified if needed.

Thanks

clean your AFM very well, it helps too... if it is cruddy with oil etc it will trip off the fuel cut earky too. but 12psi sounds right depending on your ambient temps..
