Current Generation CVT's better than prior models?

Folks,

Just curious if the newer models have a more robust CVT than the prior years trouble prone units? Also, is there now a proper cooling system for the transmission fluid standard on all CVT equipped vehicles. Given the nature of the past problems with these units I would hope so.

I'm just checking as the time to replace my Rogue will be approaching soon and I would not want to repeat my recent experiences again with a new vehicle.
