What you are talking about is an adjustable length exhaust manifold, which is usually used on NA applications (the Integra Type R has one made by... spoon or mugen, don't remember). Those are ridiculously expensive and are used to get that lasf bit of power from the NA engine, while retaining low-end driveability. When it's short there is more low end, when it's logn there is more top end (or vice versa I'm getting a bit confused), and there is something that adjusts that, or you can do it manually if you make one yourself. Similar to adjustable length intake manifolds, these are not something an FI car would employ.
In my case, this is not a warp, it's a flex-section, to account for engine vibrations and general exhaust sway. It helps reduce strain on both the flanged joints and the turbo manifold itself by absorbing movement. They got for about 30 bucks on ebay, and come in all diameters needed, both in mild steel and SS options. A completely stiff exhaust is one of the main rasons why people's manifolds or exhaust bends crack, as the rigid piping has to absord the shocks of engine twist and exhaust sway. Something will give after a while, and it's usually the smallest/thinnest weld, like the bends on an equal length SS manifold that are not as rigid as the thick 3" or 2.5" catback/dp welds.I recommend this flex section to anyone who is making their own DP or catback.
Red-KAT let us know how long the high temp paint holds up on the exhaust/cat, maybe this is finally the one that won't chip off after a week or two. I really need to get some good high temp spray paint for cheap, and I'm looking so far without much luck.
