Living in Nor-Cal, highest octane i can get is 91. so before I fill up, I usually go get some kind of octane booster. They all claim to be the highest, "barely street legal", ect ect. Race fuel isn't the easiest thing for me to get a hold of, so getting an octane booster is convenient. I've tried a few, but wanted so see if any have stood out for you guys.

So far the one i've gotten a few times was the one that says "+104" on the bottle. I can't think of the name.

whatcha got?

Im pretty shure the amount of octane booster you would need to take 91 to 103+ would be excessive. Im pretty shure your best bet is to just find a gas station that sells 103+, ahh the beauty of living in Illinois i know of at least a dozen gas stations that sell 103 and a few that sell 110 .

on a side note i know places like meijer and sam's club.... food stores where you can buy in bulk...they sometimes have automotive sections that sell race gas by the small drum, but im not shure about any place in Cali.

Octane boosters are worthless. They say "+1-3" but if you really read the back of them. They only add like .1 to .5 of a point. And there line $5.00 for half a liter or something.

If you can't find race gas.

Google 'toluene"

octane booster is a joke

not only you don't get a consistent amount of octane "boost" through out that tank of said gas, your car isn't properly tuned take advantage of it

don't let placebo effect fool you

The highest I can get here at local gas stations in Oklahoma is 91. I've been filling up with Shell V-power since July and have had zero problems with pre-detonation.

If you're having pre-detonation problems have you thought about alcohol or water injection? Check out Brian Falla's article in NICO's tech section http://www.nicoclub.com/articl...shtml

NOS race octane boost clames 60 points thats = to 6 hole octane numbers(who knows how true that is)! Shell vpower 93+nos 6 points= 99 octane! It says NOT street legal! I run this with stock 370cc injectors @ 20psi from a Garrett gt28r with 0 knock 0 problems after 6 months!

I use Torco Accelerator. Its a Race Fuel Concentrate that you add in to the gas. A 32oz. bottle mixed with 10 gallons of 93 makes around a 104 octane mix.

part of my orig. post was to see if i would get flamed on for bringing boosters up. As usual, some say yes, some say no.

I will try that Paul Walker endorsed NOS next. I never did cuz figured it was a joke. Where do you guys get Torco Accelerator from?

Its like this in oregon, I actually know someone who blew his 400whp KA-T because they put in 87 instead of 92, he sued them and got 6k lol.

But anyways this has happened to me more then once, it really is a big problem here, I hate not being able to pump my own gas, I lived in cali for 19yrs so its like someone took away my man hood lol.

i run toluene in my street bikes and xylene in my dirtbikes, 114 and 118 poctanes, you can just figure out the math with gallon to gallon ratios. (search first, they can be harmfull because they lose their gas like qualities)
