Hello all, I have a 1992 240sx hb and I have been doing a 5 speed swap recently. I was wondering if anybody knows anything about the crank itself? The rear of the crank, where the pilot bearing gets pressed into. Does the crank itself have separate pieces? It looks like there are bushings pressed together. I am not sure if they are actually bushings or what I am seeing is grooves cut into the inside of the crank (where the pilot bushing slides in) Does anybody have any clue? Any information will sure help me out Thanks all. Matt

there is a bushing in the end of your crank, it is the pilot for the torque converter. You need to take it out in order to put in your pilot bushing.

Yes, pilot bearing removal tool (with the slide hammer). Rented one yesterday from autozone for 40 bucks. Didn't do squat for the bearing (for the torque converter) is flush up against the crank. I told autozone that it didn't work and they told me they have a better tool but it's 140 bucks deposit. I dont know. I will probably end up renting that. My father is trying to rig something up with a steering wheel puller to take the thing off that the flywheel bolts to. Hmm? Dunno bout that. So the bearing comes out (the one that does not fit flush) and the pilot bearing slides in it's place? To me the pilot bearing is about the same size as the hole of the bearing I am trying to replace/remove? Hmmm I am sorry for being so confusing but anymore light into this fuzzy situation will sure help me out. Thanks everybody Nizm0
