I am wondering why when I first start the car(92'240sx) the gas pedal feels like it is hung up on something and I have to push fairly hard on it to get it to break free. Once that happens, I don't have the problem until I have to start it the next time.

Any ideas?

Have you tried looking in the engine bay to see if its getting stuck on something? I know my cables jacket was torn and where it was run it could have gotten hung up on the side of the engine.

I had that same problem. Look at the underside of your throttle body. Rotate your throttle pulley open and look for a tiny allen screw, this acts as an adjustable stopper for when the throttle closes. Simply raise that screw up a bit to hold the valve just passed that "catching point" (mine only needed raised up a hair or so). Warning though, if it isn't working don't adjust it too far, you'll just have air sneaking passed the valve and a messed up idle.
Good luck!

sounds like your throttle body is gunked up....buy a can of cleaner, spray, scrub clean, and wipe...done.
