... not saying folks that debadge feel different, but I just have never been into debadging... in BMW owners, its common for many 3 series and 5 series owners to debage, but that's understandable as, in the BMW world, it used to be such a stigma to own a 328 or 528 BMW.. (IMO the absolute most overrated and overpriced vehicles on the road... well next to the Mercedez Benz C230).. don't get me wrong, there are some folks out there that actually paid 30K from the dealer for the A/C 2.5s and those folks got ripped Big Time! Actually, I would say they got ripped worse than 328i owners are getting ripped, but that's another story...

In any case, I started this poll to end any misconceptions out there that all 2.5 owners debadge in an attempt to pass their car off as a 3.5, and that A/C owners debage and de-burger in an attempt to pass their car off as an Infinity.... the numbers celarly show that some do it , some don't... period

Debadged but left the burger. Liked the clean, sexy look of it.

I like the rear end completely debadged, but only if there a nice spoiler like the stillen. Without the spoiler and no badges, it looks to plain to me. Thats why I still have my badges until later this week when i finish painting my spoiler.

IDK, I think debadging gives the civic douches too much incentive to try and race you... I've had a few civic SI's pull up next to me, then drop back as if they were looking at my badging... they saw the 3.5 and just pulled back, purposefully showing me they wanted no parts of a race... a HATE HONDAS!!! I can't say that enough!

haha wow, way to take the words out of my fingers ><

I like the way debadged looks . . . but meh, i dropped a decent amount of extra money to get a larger engine, why not show it off?

might debadge when i get my exhaust/intake installed and you wont need to look at the back to know its a 6, but till then, badges are gona stay put

You would haft to replace the front grill, but there arnt very many replacement grilles out there yet. I just ordered the T-Rex premium mesh grill, I am going to powder coat it and put my own nissan logo on it.

I feel somewhat offended. I have a 2.5S, and debadged it because it looks so much better without the "Altima" and the "2.5S". Me removing my badge doesn't mean I want it to "fake a 3.5SE".

The problem is there are 2 types of people that get the 2.5S...

Type 1) Want a sweet car but don't have a ton of cash...those are the types that would like to blend in with the 3.5SE, NOT ACT LIKE ONE, I think it is more of just "Don't say my car is not a car because I don't have the extra 150$ a month.

The other type (2) are people like me...that saw a benefit in the I4 because it is our daily driver. I was getting out of a Blazer and wanted a step up in MPG, 20 to 25 was OK, 20 to 30 was awesome! I gave up 100 HP but I don't race and it still looks just as sweet...and I think that is why I don't feel the need to debage...I am not trying to blend in...

BUT!!! I would LOVE to remove "Altima"...I fit in with the group that hates it is an Altima...why not call it just a number...that works...the 2500S and the 3500SE? To much Honda S2000?

Eh, oh well...badges will stay for now.

While I understand where you're coming from, from our estimates, the MPG thing doesn't really seem to be holding up. It seems like most of the 3.5 drivers here are getting very close to the same MPG that the 2.5s are getting... there was a thread about it here somewhere...

In any case, the fact that Nissan chose to have dual exhaust on both the 2.5 and 3.5 in the new Altimas (compared to single exhaust in the 3rd gen 2.5s) fuels this idea that the 2.5s are trying to blend in with the 3.5s. I can't say whether that's true or not, nor do I really care. People should stop putting themselves into crazy debt trying to keep up with the Jones(And there are probably some folks here who bought the 3.5 and are struggling to make monthly payments... you know who you are). Get what you like and can afford, and be comfortable. In the end, its just a freaking car, and no matter what people get, 99% of the time, there's always a nicer car just waiting to show you up.

This. QFT.

I haven't seen any debadged coupes in this area at all.

Strangely enough, I haven't had to deal with that kind of thing from Honda drivers on campus...but I have to deal with people driving Scion tCs on campus wanting to race

I like the debadged/clean look on our cars when there isn't a spoiler, but with mine I just think it would look like something was missing rather than clean if I were to remove them.

I also agree with the Altima stigma. I have this recurring fear that if I keep this car until it pays off, once I make the last payment it will morph into one of those teal 1st-gen sedans with the messed up brake lights you still see around. (you know; the ones where when they hit the brake more goes out than actually lights up). *cringes*

I bought a 2.5 because I wanted something that looked good, got great mileage, and was easier to insure. I'm much more into the show vs go.
