So I wanted to start a thread on the new mars rover, Curiosity.

First, let me say, that landing was amazing. It literally made me feel like science fiction was science reality. I can't wait to see what sort of goodies she starts to unmars (un"earth" doesn't seem right, LOL).

And that was in relatively calm conditions vs Mars.

More impending news.....

Are we weeks away from hearing that traces of life have been found? The article above details how something "earthshaking" is about to be announced, once results are verified. Curiosity may have found traces of organic material in the soil. This should be interesting indeed....

We find carbon remnants all over the place, I want something legit. Talkin bout bigfoot legit.

Unfortunately that will still probably lead to people sayin that it is a contaminated sample.

Yeah, maybe. I remember all the hype when they found the methane......that ended up being Florida air methane. I would assume by saying organic, they mean more than just simple carbon though. The article does specify that organic material does not always lead to active life, or even past life, it just means some of the proper requirements for life are there. As to the existence of the life, more is needed to draw a reasonable conclusion.
