I'm trying to remove the cup holder in my J30 to clean out all the crap the last owner had in it.

Any idea how to take this out? I removed the two exposed screws on the underside of the lid in hopes that would losen something -- no go.

Wrong two screws. To remove the cupholder you have to pop out a piece of black plastic trim that sits directly under the middle console latch. When you remove that plastic trim, two screws are exposed.

In other words, with the middle console door shut, the plastic trim you have to pop out sits directly under the plastic latch that lets you open the middle console.

The piece of plastic plastic trim sits opposite the cup holder door. So, sitting in the driver's seat, open the cupholder door. You will have the cupholder door, behind it is the cupholder itself, behind the cupholder is the elusive plastic trim (runs the length of the cup holder), then behind the plastic trim piece you have the middle console.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Carlos. I really appreciate your help. I can't wait to take it out.
