Yesterday I placed some items including a couple credit cards and my drivers license in the cup holder in the center console, and later my license slid behind the cup holder tray and beneath the lid that swivels forward to cover it. Does the entire console need to be removed to retrieve it, or is there an easy way to remove the lid in n order to get access to the area it fell into? I don't see any obvious way to remove the cup holder so I'm hoping there's any easy solution for this...

Does it open at least a little? Might be able to slide some needle nose pliers in there and pull out the offending license...

I don't know of an easy way into that space, but this might help removing the console...

Hmm, it opens halfway but the gap between the cover and the tray is way too narrow to put anything tool related through it especially without scratching up the trim piece so looks like I'll give disassembling the console a try this weekend. Thanks guys, keep ya posted

Def had to try this but no luck. Ended up needing to remove console entirely in order to remove cup holder lid. 14 screws and half dozen parts removed in order to retrieve it. Discovered it was folded in half too so that's why it was impossible to fish it out of there. Thanks ibc for the diagram, huge help.
