I've owned my 2005 Q45 for a couple of months now and I just noticed that car doesn't have cup holder inserts. Do the Q's have inserts? When I place my coffee there in the mornings it tends to slide around. My old maxima had a cup holder insert that could be adjusted for larger beverages. If it is missing where can I purchase the insert? dealership only?

I think only the 1994-1996 had real cup holders due to customer complaints I have no idea about FGY33's.

No need for drinks in a Q though IMO.

Check out page 2-35 of your owner's manual... it appears that there is an insert. Infiniti of Scottsdale has an extra discount this month.

Here's a link to the OM if you don't have your copy. http://72.3.186.204/refgh0v/og...5.pdfGood luck!

The 94-96 Q's do not have cup holders, at least my 94 does not. I wish they did. You know if you can drive and talk on a phone, play with the radio, adjust the controls, then why not have an option to have a drink of water without having to leave the road?

If you're really thirsty you can use the 2 cupholders inside the center console but you'll have to drive with the center armrest in the up position. With nowhere to rest your right arm you'll feel like you're sitting on a milk crate.

I knew a guy who drove his little pickup that way for quite a while. I don't remember why his seat was missing, but you can imagine how unstable it was going around corners while sitting on a box.

He had a drug problem... a story for another thread.

My 94 & both my 95's had them, 2 nearly complete (short) cylinders under the armrest ... so as others have mentioned you had to drive with the armrest/center console open to use them.

During my break yesterday I sat in the back seat and was surprised to see no cup holders in the back. Every morning I get coffee and drive with the armrest up. Its not a problem for me. I just hate looking into this open area when grabbing my coffee.

It could be worse....the 90-93 has no enclosed center console storage box, just an open tray to display all your junk!!! What were THEY thinking????

Driving 90-93 is like sitting on your couch watching football.

They were thinking of comfort.

Hated the center armrest in my 94. Took me almost 6 months to get used to it.

The cup holder in the 94-96 is only designed for cans. I don't understand why they didn't do it for the rear seats.

This cupholder and variations of it seem to be the most popular. I've seen one that folds flat when not in use. They mount low so if there is any spillage no electronics get damaged.
