Thanks, Asgar

Yes a guy on here has some experiance with it, infact he's making 300 RWHP at 16 PSI (I believe, might be off there) If he dosn't post here goto http://www.team-nismo-of-austin.com and post there. Chris

That is my future turbo kit. I have seen a few cars with that setup in mags that kit makes like 450+ rwp. Friggin nuts.

My friend Avery just got that turbo kit about 3 weeks ago. At 15psi he made 326rwhp and 280rwtq. That kit is fvcking AWESOME, and I was there the whole time that Jason at CTC was tuning the car on the dyno (they did the dyno tune at Forced Performance, did like 26 pulls I believe) Anyway, after riding in his car I must say that it is leaps and bounds better than his T3/04e that he had. He is planning on upping the boost this summer to 18 pounds and it should make between 350 and 370 to the wheels...

wow, with a log manifold you can do 370 whp with a T3 T04E 50 trim and spend loads less money. oh and you only need a Z32mafs, 555cc injectors, and an afc to do it..

Mattback: I highly doubt you know his situation, thanks for the comments, but they don't mean poop to me. The kit is top notch and makes for an EXCELLENT powerband, CTC knows what they are doing. It isn't about peak power with that kit, it is about the delivery. Don't think that I don't read the FA forums and all the poop that you post on there, cuz I do ;)

Samabra: You really need to update that pic of Avery's car on that nismo site thing, I got a lot of new ones since he put on the turbo kit if you want one...

Edit: Mattback, Avery already had the setup you described (actually better) and he *could* have made that much power, but it is all peak power. With peak power you are getting into the range of the supra saying "what do a supra with 400hp, one with 600hp and one with 800hp have in common? Answer: they all run 12's"

240 keyy, i know exactly what you're talking about, but when people close to me are running 11.80 on the setup with the ' peaky ' powerband youre talking about..

lets see here, full boost by 4300 rpm?? how is that peaky??

Well I drove his car before he put the CTC kit on (he hasn't let me drive it since he put it on, but he will) and his setup did get full boost by 4300rpm, however, below that it didn't make a damn bit of power. I will see if I can get a copy of his dyno sheet from before the CTC kit. he sits at roughly 140ish HP until 3900 and then between 3900 and 4250 the power spiked from 140 to 290. Boost hit fast and it hit HARD and the car was totally not autocrossable. However with CTC's kit, there is no spike in the power, the power just constantly builds all the way through the RPM range and the car is far more autocross friedly.

I wasn't trying to be a d*** about it or anything, just that I know what you are saying and would like to point out what is wrong with it.

Hey 240_keyy,

When do you think your friends car starts building boost? At what rpm does he hit 16psi? From what you are saying the kit sounds like what I am looking for. I am not interested in peak numbers at all. I want a turbo that has a meaty powerband, and builds power gradually and predictably.

Thanks, Asgar

lol, I just read my post up there, his numbers didn't spike that much between those rpm's, the spike actually came quite a bit later in the powerband.

here is a copy of the dyno sheet from his first tuning session. The low numbers are baseline tune and the high ones are the final run. Remember, he is still going up to 18psi from here... http://www.unnaturallyaspirated.com/avery/dyno.jpg

one more thing 240_keyy, can you show us any of his dynos with the ctc kit on there? I am currently an autocrosser and want to roadrace in the near future. Andi B. who road races his supra went to CTC to make a custom turbo and it turned out excellent. Like someone said earlier, high horsepower supras are mostly dyno queens, but this turbo puts out nice #S (540 @18psi pump gas) and has the most drivable power band compared to other turbos that put out the same power. In a fouth gear dyno pull he started to build boost at about 2500 and hit 18psi around 4000. This is the turbo Im going with for my Supra. All Im saying is if this company caters a lot of road racers, they will have more experience in that realm, and develope a kit for the SR that is just that.

Thanks, Asgar

the power band is very nice as you can see from the dyno chart, perfectly autocross/road race friendly.

Hey 240_Kevy, unfortunatly I'm not the webmaster of the Team Nismo website, however I'm gonna ask if I can start updating, we'll see though. Avery has one hellofa turbo set up I can tell you that. CTC has a very good turbo kit. Chris

Guys,I'm a little confused on these graphs. Take a look at the following graph of a T3/T4 kit. Enjuku Kit - T3/T4 This is enjuku's kit. At the same RPM, Enjuku is making more power. I don't see how anyone could argue that one graph looks better than the other. There is nothing "peaky" about the t3/t4 graph. Observe the power level (hp) at each RPM and tell me how one is better than the other. If I stretch the image out on the Enjuku graph, it will look flatter. But compare the power vs. rpm and they are similar.

just my .02 cents.

HE = MO F-N' AMAZING

But others think they could be a bit stiffer. However, for what I do (autocross) they work splendidly.

I believe the enjuku dyno was on race gas and at 21psi.

edit: not sure about race gas, just checked the site and it said nothing about it.

The point of my argument was not that they were making more power. The point was that the curve is just as long and flat as the curve on Avery's graph. With the exception of the higher hp, it looks almost identical. If you turn the Enjuku car back down to 16 psi, I'm willing to bet that it would look identical to Avery's. Look at both graphs at 4000 rpm. They are both climbing equally.

Look where both graphs flatten out. The Enjuku is at 4250 and Avery's is at or around 4750. So how can there be a massive improvement? Please give me your opinions as I will be in the market for a kit as well.

F150, the ctc kit is not $4750 that is just the price they say it is. It is a *really* good deal if you catch my drift ;)

you are wrong

the enjuku dyno was on 19.5 psi until practically redline (profec b creep to almost 21), and was on PUMP gas, thank you very much. how do i know this??

it dynoed at my shop.

any other questions??

also, watch the torque curve.

when the torque curve stops climbing at a huge rate, and the dy dx relaxes , that is when the car hits full booost.

CTC is making full boost (16lbs or whtaever) at about 4750 rpm..

ENJUKU by comparison is reaching full boost (19psi, 3 psi higher than CTC) at an even LOWER rpm, about 4250..

so who has the more tractable powerband???

That was my point the whole time. Forget about who is making more power. Looking at the two graphs, I don't see how anyone could argue that Avery's graph is better. With the T3/T4, he is reaching full boost 500 RPM earlier and the curve is actually flatter.

I'm leaning toward a T3/T4 setup right now.
