crusing at 3000 rpm car bugs down

Wassup guys...don't get to post around here too often cuz of many factors and due to the fact that I haven't drvien my car at all for the past 3 months or so due to a rupture achilles tendon. I'm back on my feet now, thank God, and started driving my car again and I had notice it bugged down before but didn't pay much attention to it.

Well, this is pretty much what happens: 4th gear around 3000 RPM, crusing and when I hit the gas, the car starts bugging down, so I have to down shift to debug it...I'm thinking is turbo as the car has 170K kilometers on it and I don't think the previous owners took much care of the car...I've been having a t28 for like a year now and haven't been able to install it due to time constraints.

Can anyone tell me if my assessment of the turbo being bad is correct? Thanks in advance!

check the codes off the ecu first. then let us know the outcome.

It's bog's down, not bugs down.

As zero_grip said, pull the codes and come back with the results. If you don't know how, there is a link to the FSM in the FAQ. The process is laid out in there.
