Cruise control won't work

my cruise control recently quit working on my J and the switch on the steering wheel is fine. It just won't engage! I also want to add that the ABS light has been on for some time.

Listen under the hood with the engine shut off and see if a black box on the passenger side at the back of the bay is buzzing.
If it is tap on it with a screw driver handle and see if the buzzing stops.
Sounds like a sticky ABS relay.

For the cruise control, when mine quit working all I had to do was replace the switch on the dash (it pops off) with a new one and it started working again.

If your ABS pump is on while the car is off, locate the black box along the passenger side, remove the cover by gently pulling the tabs, pull up on the the ABS module and remove. It will prevent your ABS pump from burning out. Replace the ABS module with a new one and your ABS should extinguish the light unless the pump is burned out.

yodawill, that happened in may sometime and i didnt know what it was till it drained my battery. but it hasnt done it since.
driverdriver, does it matter that the dash switch located in the trim to the right of the steering wheel turns on and off when i want it to. the cruise light beside the blinker does not come on when i try and engage the cruise.
