Hi i have a 91 s13 dohc and i too am having the digital dash problem. but i was wondering if the cruise control is unplugged if that would cause the speedo to not work?

also my hud glows when the car is on and flashes when i turn the car off but it doesnt read anything the speedo on the das does nothing, does anyone have some insight on this?

Nope, the speed signal is directly taken from the VSS.

HUD units are known for having issues with age, its usually the capacitors. Search and you can find a how to repair, if you can solder you can fix the HUD
