Why would you want to cruise above 90? That's just begging for a ticket.

Well. I left from Camarillo en route to San Fransisco at 9 pm. Traveled the 101 90% of the way there. Its really not hard to avoid the police. The medians are divided by stone. As long as you don't pass a cop doing 80+ your in the clear. And the radar detector helps too.

yeah begging for a ticket there and a nice reckless driving charge, anyways not judging here. But the radar detector with you going that fast as soon as it beeps the coppers already have you clocked (if using the gun) But eh your money not mine. Just becareful.

They need to build a bridge that goes Los Angeles - Honolulu non-stop. That will be the place to unleash the power and cruise control. Seems like a good idea

Yes!!! Make it the Pacific Autoban with no speed limit since after about 12 nautical miles out, you are in international waters ! And there should be a gas station and a rest stop every 200 miles on it!

Oh man, I'd be in LA every weekend, no doubt!! I used to fly there 6-8 times a year after I moved back here.

I'd just cruise control it 110mph across the whole thing

Now I'm really dreaming about this this. I can see it now...a special oasis. People would be flooding Hawaii and thereby increasing the economy there. Imports + exports would nearly triple. In international waters, you could hit any speed (as long as your car can handle it) and you could theoretically travel LA-Honolulu in 1 day. Would be sweet as I would be vacationing about once every 2 weeks if gas prices fell.

The question is, can a Toyota Corolla with a carbon fiber hood "handle it"?

Ya dude i know how you feel. I grew up in VA for 18 years. Then i joined the navy and got stationed near LA. In VA you will get pulled for doing 6 over and there are cops everywhere! In cali though its a different story. I mean im not reckless with the speed i just dont like driving 400 miles at 65 mph. Ive only been pulled once for speeding in the last 2 years, the military thing has always helped me out : ) But thanks for the advice non the less.

BTW Eric nice idea with the superintercontinentalhawaiinhighway

It's also stupid to limit the top speed to 112 mph, but if everything was smart, the world would be a very different place.

Hey now us 3.5 ers can get 33 mpg ya know. So with a 20 gal. tank we only need a station every 600 mi. But we can't go over 50 mph to get there.

That's still about 7 fill ups on the way to Honolulu from Los Angeles, since the distance is 2,551 miles.
