Many of the posts I found when I searched mentioned clutch pedals and such - doesn't help an automatic.

So is there a pretty common fix when the cruise just stops working? My horn's also starting to act a little flaky so I'm inclined to think electrics or contacts in the steering wheel.

Any other obvious places to look? The green light still comes on the lower left but not on the dash and the CC never engages.

Thanks,

Chris

It could be simple. You better remove your steering wheel and check for the connection. I guess this is the first thing you should look into since it's easy.

1. Remove a screw that's holding the steering wheel cover in the back.2. Pull out the cover. It's clipped on to the steering wheel.3. Loosen 14mm nut. Don't remove it completely. Leave it at the end.4. Yank the steering wheel out. Hold tight with both hands and foot on brake pedal. You might have to pull it really hard or need help from someone. 5. Check connnections in the back of steering wheel. You will see 2 RINGS that covered with grease. One is for the horn and the other is for the cruise control. Clean them up and make sure they have good connection when the steering wheel is installed. Take out cruise control switch and clean it up good with some WD40.

That's about it. Since your horn is not working properly either, I hope this takes care of both problems.

If that doesn't work I'd check the vacuum line(s). There is a small 2" loop toward the back of the motor, mine was cracked and leaking vacuum which is why mine didn't work for a while. It's like 0.64$ at autozone for a foot of hose.

Yeah, mine hasn't worked since I got the car.

I've replaced:-switch on steering wheel-electronic vaccum pump-vaccum hose

Only thing left is wiring and the vaccum thing with the cruise cable on it. I'm about to give up.

Check the switch under the brake pedal. That's what was wrong with my c.c. It was coming out of its casing and I re-secured it and it started working. It was easy. Hope it's that easy for you too.William
