Cruise Control Lights??

Are the cruise control buttons in the steering wheel supposed to light up? They don't on my 97, kind of a pain at night.

They don't light up. All I need to do was turn the map/reading lights on for like 2 seconds to see the marking letters.

Or just learn which button does what, so you know which one is where.
