I've owned my 90Q for about 4 years (bought, sold, bought back) and the cruise control (CC) has never worked. In the past couple of years I've swapped in all the individual CC components- controller, ON/OFF switch on dash, set switch on steering wheel, relay, and the diaphragm and actuator under the hood, all with no luck. I still checked it while driving every couple of months and the green CC light would never come on in the instrument cluster.
Yesterday I did the check and I'll be darned but the CC was working. About the only thing I've done since the last check is to pull all the under dash fuses to check them with a voltmeter while chasing a defroster problem. None were bad. While checking fuses I also played with an interrupt button that's wired in that I assumed was for the telephone. I've pressed this switch many times before but think I may have pressed it this time with the engine running.
In the last week the seat and steering column have also started moving when turning off the engine but it's been intermittent for a long time so I'm not sure it's related. Regardless, I use CC a lot in my other cars and I'm pleased to have it working again in the Q. We'll see how long it lasts.
