Greetings.I'm a Newbie to this Forum and to Infinity. Missed my chance to buy a brand new one in 1993 due to illness, but just bought a cherry 1993 J30t 10 days ago at wholesell. The cruise control doesn't work, and there is no fuse in the kick board location, nor under the hood in the fusable links box section. All wires and cable seem to be connected correctly, but I'm only a shad-tree hopeful, or, a disabled Veteran who means well without the funds to have it professionally repaired. I'm thinking it is a blown fuse or a relay. Any ideas--please?Thanks in advance.Jasonsos

there is a fuse. In nissan world its called ASCD- automatic speed control device!!! There should be a fuse in the passenger compartment and a relay in engine bay....

Check the fuses, and if that doesnt fix it, unplug the battey overnight. Someitmes it magicaly fixes these things.... seriously. make sure your turning the cruise control on [dash switch] before setting.

Welcome to NICO!!!

Thanks for your reply!I DID check the fuse compartment under the dash at the kick board, and a 'cruise' wasn't listed, however, I don't recall seeing the ASCD as you mentioned. I will have a look, then, I will unplug the battery over night. Actaully, I can understyand how that would work--sort of. I once did that with a NASA radar system, and the next morning--power!Thanks again for the quick reply. You're tops!Jasonsos

Problems with spacecraft components can sometimes be easier to diagnose than problems with a Q45.

Check the engine compartment fuse box. If it's like the Q, there should be a blue (?) cruise control relay there.

Thanks for your post, goody94q45.I looked under the hood at the fuse-block black box. I saw a relay tagged, "ASCD HOLD." I pulked it out, shook it, tapped on it and put it back in. Since it is enclosed without a see=through; no way of knowing if it is bad. And: there was no fuse on the driver's side kick board compartment. I checked for a ASCD fuse, but none was listed. * You have a real beauty of a car man! My J30t is in just about as fine shape, although the paint is fading. The inside is well kept, although one problem is a huge dent UNDER the driver's door, as if the guy ran up over a curb, then the car came to rest on that curb, making a huge under-carriage dent, which wrapped the inner door jam. The door does close, although it has to be closed rather firmly. I have thought that maybe I could go to a body shop and have them adjust the door hinges so that I won't have to almost slam the door to get the interior lights to go out, otherwise; that's what had caused the battery to go dead from the former owner. (I got a great cash deal).Anyway, it runs really well with 142,000 miles! I fixed the sunroof that wouldn't go back all the way with a few sprays of silacone on the tracks.I'll post a photo tonight when I figure that out.* Any other ideas on the cruise control? Thanks to ALL!Jasonsos

My 95 has 2 fuses in the interior fuse box #4 and #30 plus the relay under the hood.
