IRR just quit working all together, no prior indication it was failing -no features or controls work on it now. Car recognizes failure and just give me idiot msg to take into dealer.

Did change to slighter larger tires (235 to 245s) at the approx timeframe of failure, but everybody and Infinit says nothing to do with it.

Help/suggestions please??

Hello,Welcome to NICO. You might want to check the sensor to make sure there are not bugs or muck on it. If you look at the owner's manual, you will see where the sensor is pictographically. I believe it is right below the bumper on the right side. If the sensor is dirty, the ICC will not function. Hopefully, that is all it is.Good Luck,M.L

I was talking to the Infiniti mechanic just this week about that thing. He said that he specifically cleans it for customers even if they are in for unrelated stuff because of the "smear" code that comes up when that sensor is malfunctioning. He said that because it is tied into the ABS, throttle and other systems, it will not even reset itself after a certain amount of starts.

If it's clean, it probably just needs a reset. Hopefully they won't charge for it...

The resident mechanic here at work thinks if I remove the postive cable completely off the battery - and ground it, than that might reset system so ICC will work again. Any comments???

I do not think it will hurt anything to try, but I also don't think it will work.

We would likely have already known about it if so....

(I assume you meant "ground the ICC sensor" and not "ground the battery". )

Can't hurt, so worth trying.
