I have recently noted that my car's pick up has decreased significantly and i dont know why. my 08 Rogue, SL has just under 176,000 km. there are no light illuminated on the dash indicating that there is a problem. What i have noted is that sometimes when i start from a stop (ex. traffic light, stop sign), when the car is already at operating temperature, it just revs like crazy and it doesnt accelerate! i have to rev the engine to over 3500 rpm (and ever over 4000) in order for the car to start moving and it stays like that and i have to floor the gas peddle for the car to barely move to 40km/hr. it doesnt happen all the time it happens from time to time. i have not had the this issue in the past 4 yrs since i have owned the car. this is the first issue that i have been having for the past few weeks.

the other issues that i have started to having is that the car does hold cruise control speed. i noticed this two weeks ago when i went on a short road trip. i set the cruise at 120km/hr and i noticed that the speeds gradually decreased, it doesnt hold at 120km/hr :werd: ! i also noted that that when going up a small valley on the highway the cruise control just turned off i didnt think much of it and ignored but i have driven that same route several times and never noticed this before. this weekend i went on another weekend road trip and the car had the same issues. the car drive perfectly fine on cruise and then all of a sudden the i notice that the speeds slowly creeps down. in order for me to get back to 120km/hr it seems nearly impossible i floor the gas peddle and nothing happens and this on flat prairie highways so hills or mountains! i also noted that the cruise just turned off when going up a small hill and this happened twice, the weird this is that it didnt happen on the way their it happen only happened on the way back the next day (1st day travelling east 2nd day travelling west!

please let me know if anyone has had these issues and what was the fix. the only thing i have notices under the hood is that my coolant levels are getting quite close the the min line. can this be the cause? any help or suggest would be greatly appreciated.

Suggestions:
Dirty/clogged air filter
Dirty MAF sensor
Plugs exceeded service life
Have you changed the CVT fluid?

I replaced the air filter and engine air filter ( air cleaner filter) this summer so they are in good shape. I have not done anything to the MAF but i will have a look. I have replaced the plugs at the recommended 169000km so they are relatively new and i also replaced the CVT fluids.
thanks for your help.

Check for a stuck caliper.

Roll the car back and forth in Neutral with no brake application (including emergency brake) on level road/garage with someone else inside to press the brake so it doesn't go where it shouldn't. It should fairly freely move. If not, you may have a seized caliper.
