... but didn't know it wasn't backlighted...

i borrowed my lil bro's "modded" gameboy advance a few years ago w/out knowing that it wasn't backlighted from the factory... i aSSumed that it was like that since he made such a clean install w/ the afterburner kit.

I just aquired one tonight w/ 6 gbC & 1 advance cartridge for my son... (since he's fighting over a gb SP w/ his cousins...) for $35 put some fresh rechargeable NiMH batteries in it & powered it up--- FAWK!

------------

now i gotta hunt for something like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...h=007

if you guys know of something cheaper than that, please lemme know... thanks in advance.

------------------

ps: my lil bro already sold his modded gamboy advance/ and flash cart/cable kit to some1 else a few years ago

Screw that noise. Just go buy a 2nd gen SP. They have an EXCELLENT backlight built in and the form-factor and buttons are much better than the widebody GBA. Plus the battery life is outstanding AND extra batteries can be had for crazy cheap (as in ~$10).

Or find a used SP. Even the first gens have adequate "backlights" (even though it's a bottomfrontlight).

DS won't play GBC and GB games, so unfortunately it's not an option for GameBoy stuff.

exactly: i feel ripped off already for paying that much for a gen 1 GBA unit...

cause i ebay for lotsa special milk that my son drinks (they normally costs ~$10 a quart on the retail shelves)

i scoured the net to see if anyone has these afterburner kits to no avail...

that one site got closed down d/t sony's lawsuits...

i guess i'm stuck w/ a halo light :P

yea, i know they're front/ side lighted... the terms are mixed when i'm trying to search for this thing...

gonna get me a flash cart & cable to extend this unit's lifespan as well

i'm trying to bid on ebay, but i always get "sniped

time does fly by when they're occupied in the back seat & not saying, "are we there yet?"
