got a response from crower today, saying they can do re-grinds fro me for $78 each, giving typically 10-15 degrees more duration and .010-.015 more lift over stock. should i go with this, and has anyone ever had experience with crower re-grinds or other re-grinds and are they any rpoblems with them?

and if they can only go about 10-15 degrees more, the most i may get is a 256 as the stock ones are about 246 if i remember correctly.. will this be worth it for a lil more low end grunt and more high rev flow??

and at this stage are valve springs and retainers worth it???

not looking to rev to more than about 8000rpm..

thanks

Aaron

are the stock cams 246 in the ca18det,I know some guys use the ca16de cams out of pulsarswhich is what I would try to get a hold of as I hear they are a decent low cost upgradeand a little bigger.I have used regrinds from comp &lunati before but the cams were billet rollers, not cast cores.I have heard some not so good things about regrinding cast cores.Hope this helps

I am actually using a pair of regrinds done by coltcams in canada and they work fine for me. I can tell the difference in the engines mid and top-end performance.

will they do ANY cams? If you have the specs for that much? Or just the CA18 cams?

they said that they can only go giving typically 10-15 degrees more duration and .010-.015 more lift over stock because that's all they can get out of the stock ones... they can also do customs cams from what i understand but those cost more i am positive.

i dunno if the limitations of the amount the can regrind the stock cams if for the CA only, they may be able to offer more to other engines cams.

If an alternative is needed contact Geoff at http://www.coltcams.com and geoff is the owner. The coolest person in the world. He actually talks to you and helps you decide what is best for your application. Not like some of these bigger companies that want to shooo you off because you're not spending enough money with them. He made a guarantee with me that if I didn't like the grind, return the cams and he would refund my money. Well, this was nearly 2 years ago and I am ecstatic with the way things turned out!
