Guys, The RB25 swap is underway! Today I spent a good long while pulling crap out of the engine bay and I plan to pull the KA out tomorrow afternoon. I'm planning on using the R33 crossmember with modified R33 mounts. I'd like to drop the RB in from the top but I'm a bit confused about how to remove the KA crossmember. Is it necessary to completely remove the front suspension to get the crossmember out or is there a much simpler way that I'm not seeing? What is the procedure in detail? I tried searching but almost everything that comes up deals with then never ending argument about whether or not to buy a mounting kit

If you are pulling the crossmember than its easier to just put the R33 CM on the motor and put it in from the bottom than all you have to do is bolt it up and everything is done.

About your mounting... it is alot easier to just buy swap mounts so you can still use the stock CM. Its just alot of work to pull the CM.

Undo the steering shaft, lower control arms, and tie rods. Then you ahve to put it back up and get that stupid shaft to line back up and then you need an alignment from taking the tie rods off. Then you have to swap over the rack and pinion.

Just go buy some mounts and use the stock CM and put it in through the top. If not than you can just undo the CM and put it in from the bottom. its up to you I like doing stuff up top, unless I got a hoist.-Alex
