2011 - replaced battery and now convertible top warning light flashes / alarm sounds. The top was secured completely closed prior to the battery exchange - completed without a battery tender.

Trunk will not open. The trunk shelf was not in 'OK to function' position due to winter weather. All methods to open trunk are electronic - from key FOB and dash trunk release. Glove box trunk access is 'on'.

I'm thinking that the top will not function due to the trunk shelf not in set position to accept command. The trunk function will not work as it thinks the top is in motion.

How does one access the trunk? Is it possible to go through the rear seat area? Suggestions - please!

I have read on other forums the same problem that I am having - with the same cause on replacing or dead battery, but end resul/ solution is not provided.

My experience, I had to use the key to open the trunk. The key fits in fully in two directions, but only one direction allows it to turn and open the trunk. (I thought when I had the problem, the trunk key was also closed out from working.) If that doesn't work, write back. Also, does anyone have the 2011 (or any cross cab) Cross Cabriolet manual "RF" section. This is for the roof. I didn't find that section in the NICO manual for Cross Cab 2011. Any reason that section didn't make it into download? David.
