they cool faster and allow better braking, plus they look cool

but they reduced brake pad to rotor

so unless your noticing brake fade there is no real performance upgrade other than bigger rotors

cross drilled rotors also make a lot more brake dust

cross drilled is usually used for full race. Sometimes they end up cracking too. IF your car is daily driven I would recommend slotted over cross drilled. But if you're going to race hard on your brakes all the time and don't care about replacing rotors then cross drilled will usually give you better cooling. Personally I think cross drilled looks better, but would go slotted for maintanence issues on my 240. Hope this helps.

Well, I'd stick to the well known brands. Baer, Brembo and Stillen all offer brake packages...not sure if any are 240SX specific however. Deals vary, and your best bet is to just research them online.

If you want a fairly good compromise, get cross-drilled/slotted in the front and solid rear discs in the back. This will help reduce fade and still provide very good brake pad to rotor contact.

if your going to do anything yourself, i highly suggest simply making small dimples ( dimbles?) using a drill, all through out your rotors, easier to do than slots and doesnt hurt structure integrity like a full drill-through.

peace.

I would never cross drill a rotor either with a drill or have them drilled with C & C machining. Brembo warns people about this and does not recommend it. I have been told by Brembo that blank rotors (plain) are not made to withstand the same pressures as cross drilled/slotted rotors are. Brembo makes them differently and garuntee's it. Also if you buy a blank rotor from them and alter it, you automatically void their garuntee.

Basically it can be done, but it isn't safe.

just be safe and get some cross drilled and slotted rotors from brembo. they look good, and they cost about 200 on ebay.
