I have been reading and trying to piece together my setup for a 240sx I should be getting this summer. I used to be on the SR bandwagon and wanted nothing more than to do an SR swap until I realized how much the KA has to offer. Anyways here's what I have so far...feel free to critique my proposed setup and/or make suggestions.

AMS Advanced rebuild kit (possibly .020 over bore)Brian Crower street/strip camsFMIC and piping3" downpipe3" catbackAMS fuel injector/rail system (what injector option and other options should I pick)Walbro 255lph fuel pumpBikiROM engine managementXS Power T3/T04e turboWhite Bunny clutch/flywheel setup

I'm missing:some kind of turbo manifoldexternal wastegatebovoil lines for turboanything else?

My ultimate goals are to have the car running right at or very close to 300whp , daily driven and then anywhere from 350-450whp on high boost. This will need to be attainable on 93 grade pump gas. I would like the turbo to be street friendly and not have a ton of lag which is why I picked the turbo that I did...based off of reading that I have done. The budget for this will be between $8,000-$10,000. So please give me some input on my setup Very Happy

Thanks

This is going to make me very unpopular, but I would use the full SSAC kit, and give it the common prep that makes it safe. You have to prep the WG, and mani.

Get the Calum daughterboard instead of BikiROM, it is ultimately easier to get, more effective, and cheaper. Only use the Moates Burn1 with it.

DSM BOV works well for a lot of people.

Cheapturbolines.com makes a very nice oil line kit that works on the SSAC mani and setup for about 80 bux.

If you are going to spend the money to get the AMS rebuild kit, you might as well get the GT35 from them. Also, a better clutch setup than white bunny.

You can buy a tuned ecu from enthalpy. Then no worries of tuning.

That's a good way too, but I just hate paying for that.

Ok I've changed my mind on a few things. I think I'm going to go with the JGS starter turbo kit. I've read good things about the turbo that it includes and about the kit overall.

Also, where can I find some info on the Calum daughterboard and the Moates burner?

As far as the clutch setup goes, I was looking at this "modified" white bunny setup http://www.ka-t.org/forums/vie...ecialwhich is basically a RB20DET or early RB25/26 flywheel and a 350z pressure plate, clutch disk, and throwout bearing.

Moates burner is at Moates.net

Here is the Calum order form, for an installed daughterboard with a rough tune installed. Also, I happen to have a copy of a certain noteable tuner for a very common setup:

Good luck!

EDIT: I have personally bought from Calum, and will do so again. His support is phenomenal!

What is the Consult option?

Also what are your thoughts on that "modified" white bunny setup. Or do you have a specific clutch that you'd recommend?

[/threadjack=eazye2000]Hey Cheze... I gotta get with you about that ROM stuff one day. Add me to your AIM= EazyE4You or MSN= e_appie (at) hotmail (dot) com. I'm in some SERIOUS need to get my car tuned!!![/end-threadjack]

As far as the 'White Bunny' Special goes... There are two different versions.. The RB20 Flywheel, with the 350z clutchpack.Or the 280Z flywheel, with some other disc or something. You can find both versions here on the site if you search a little bit. I'll dig around in a little while, but for now I'm gonna go drive my 10:1 AFR idling beast around base for a while.. lol

I was personally commenting on the customer service, not my ability to tune them. But if you need some help, I will do so within my ability. I sent you an email, let me know your setup.

The consult feature allows you to use the sensor data to datalog and diagnose the car. It is what Nissan called their OBD interface (the phrase OBD is a Ford term, ALDL for GM, etc). It can be very handy for problem diagnosis, also, it allows you to do a bin dump, which is unnecessary on a tuned setup, but still handy.

I don't know all that much about the White Bunny setup except to say that it is a typical 240mm clutch setup, as are so many of the clutch setups. IDK what it costs, but can it be much more than a Stage 1 or 2 240z clutch?

From what I've read the white bunny special is supposed to be around the same price as the lower priced act clutches...street/strip ones i think but able to hold much more power and still be streetable.

Supposedly Mike Lee is running the original white bunny setup with a 93 D21 pickup flywheel and the clutch from a 280z. But you can mate a variety of other stock clutches to the flywheel as long as they are 240mm (stock D21 truck clutch, 300zx, rb series engine, etc.) Here's a link to where Mike Lee mentions running the original setup and in his sig it says he's running 543.26 rwhp 463.88 rwtqhttp://forums.nicoclub.com/sho...73993

So that's why I'm looking towards that instead of spending a **** ton on ACT, Spec, or other brands

This is what it said in the post...I can't get the link to work

"Funny I remember that thread..... anyhow I have the original WB spl clutch and I wouldn't go any other way. It's as streetable as stock with a heavier pedal and holds well though I am always conscientious of not cooking my clutch as no clutch in invincible.
