Hey Crimson, I've got some Q's for you on your rear tires size... Can you hit me up via e-mail or here on the board???

I had purchased some new 245/45 18" Avon's but they rubbed... The 245/45 18" Bridgestone pilots there were on there seemed fine... I thought maybe it was because they were new... But no, they're bald now (damn that was fast) and they're STILL rubbing when the rear suspension compresses...

I've still got the stock springs too... No lowering on it... Is your lowered??? What tire are you running??? Size/Brand... have you rolled your fenders???

Car was lowered with CC springs, but its on stock setup for now (sitting in garage).

Ive always had Michelin Pilot sport tires on it 245/45/ rear 235/45 front on the G35 wheels. Its never rubbed on either suspension. Fenders were rolled. Also, 99% of the time I drive its just me in the car, so no other dead weight but my gut.

How are your bushings? You have blues or stock? I replaced mine at the time I did the springs, Im not sure how much effect they have on rubbing issues, but its ideal to replace those if your going to plus size the wheels.

Rolled Fenders huh... I suspected... Is that something you did or had done or had the previous owner taken care of that???

Please fill me in on which bushings you recomend I change... The Q is about to get a bunch of TLC here in the next few weeks... Driving my Excursion is just killing me so I need to get this rear tire issue worked out... Guess I'll be visiting a couple of local body shops to see what they'll charge to roll my fenders...

One has to pay close attention to the actual, not just the nominal, dimensions. Avons Tech 500 tend to run a little larger.

Are you sure you are not hitting the liners?

What are your wheel dimensions?

Well when the suspension compresses and scrapes it really chews up the outside edge of the tires... And when I reach under it has the hot gooey tires on the metal edge... So I assume that rolling that up will solve my problem... But I could be wrong...

Well... Put on some new Avon's tonight... I went with 245/40 18's this time... We also rolled the fenders tonight before putting them on... So far no rubbing...

I think I might see my springs actually going on the car over the weekend or early next week... :D

I've been running 225/45/18 and 245/45/18 on 18x8 front and 18x8.5 rear 350Z Track wheels with no rubbing. Using a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE950 with no problems except a bit of road noise.

Will need to replace tires soon though. Can't decide between Potenza RE960 or Continental ContriExtremeContact all weather tires.

I think these G35 coupe wheels sit out a little further than most of the nisan/infiniti wheels... But I could be wrong..

The 350Z and G35 wheels are almost the same in outer clearange. The G35s are 18x8 ET30 all around whereas the 350Z track wheels are 18x8F ET30 18x8.5R ET33. It ends up being roughly the same outer clearance, within a few mm.

18x8 ET35 is golden on the Q and is a good place to base measurements from.

So IF I bought a set of the 18" G35 wheels they will fit my 92Q45 with standard suspension at stock height and not rub if I run say a 245/40/18 or say a 225/45/18 (as close to the stock diameter as I can figure and it should look good streched over a 8" rim). I want new wheels (and i really like the 18" g35 wheels) but my wife drives the car everyday (and loves it) but i just don't want to add any rubbing if I can help it.

thanksFred
