Ok, not really, but it sounds like it. You guys have been very helpful in the past, so I am hoping you can help me again. Here's the problem:

A few days ago I was driving around town and noticed a squeaking noise on the driver's side. It sounded like it was behind the steering wheel, or possibly under the hood in that general area. The noise came and went, and it stops when the car is at a full stop. It's more noticeable when I go over bumps in the road (since roads are generally bumpy anyway, it's a constant sound). I haven't noticed any difference in how the car handles. Also, I noticed that when I got out of the car and closed the door I heard the "crickets" for a second. I replaced my tension rods a few months ago, so I am wondering if that has anything to do with the noise. Ever since I have heard the noise I have kept my ear out for it. It's very sporadic, in that there's no set pattern as to when it happens. Sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not. It is always after the car has been driven for a while.

Thanks in advance for the help (I did search, BTW, and didn't find any thing that helped).

check around for loose body panels and apply some lube to your door hinges

good luck finding it. A word of advice, 240s suck when it comes to noises. Mine rattles from every concievable place. When i fix one, another one wil start.

Yeah I've noticed my car rattles a lot within the first 15 minutes or so of starting it and driving around. The noise is driving me nuts. I think it might be somewhere around the front driver's side wheel. The noise was really bad this morning. My car was vibrating really bad and the noise was horrible. It went away at around 40mph. It was really noticeable around 30mph and 20mph. it went away once I got on the highway and never came back on my return trip home.

This is my first winter with the car, so that might be why I'm so nervous about all the rattles. Thanks!

Were the new tension rod bushings OEM or were they polyurethane bushings. Poly bushings sometimes can be squeeky.

Push up and down on the front end of the car and listen for any squeeks. There may be worn out bushings.

Thanks for that suggestion. I will have to do that tomorrow.

I have noticed something seems wrong with the driver's side front wheel. What I mean is that if I drive my car after it has sat for 2 days the suspension seems stiff. I mean it acts like I have a rock stuck to my tire. When I pull out onto the street from the driveway (we have that lovely dip most driveways have these days) that wheel makes a squeak/stiff sound. It goes away after I drive the car around for 10 minutes or so. It's just very odd. I don't know if there is something wrong with my suspension or what.

I had my tires rotated about 3 weeks ago, and that's about the time I started noticing the noises. I wonder if they ****ed something up when they rotated my tires?

Does anyone else's 240 act like it's going to quit when in reverse? Mine does, and it's disturbing. Fuel filters maybe?
