Cricket noises '94 J30

While car Is idling I am hearing a whistling/cricket noise coming from what seems under the car. It seems to be at its worst while car is in park. I can't pinpoint where it's exactly coming from. Any ideas?

Check your exhaust for small holes, cracks, leaks.

Is your engine heat shield still on the vehicle or off?

Thanks for the reply! I'll check that. Someone told me it may be my belt. It's just odd because it's intermittent. Seems worse while stopped and car is in drive.

TBelt slapping will be heard from the top front of the engine, And does NOT sound like a cricket.
More like a hammer hitting thick plastic.Quickly !
trust me, I know first hand !
Kinda does sound like a pin hole exhaust leak.

Awesome! I'll get my mature Fox on a lift asap! Btw, mine is a '94 J30 and dark green as well! 188K on the odometer. She thinks she's fancy too with her little spoiler that keeps us grounded while cruisin' 35MPH

I have.
It was clogged egr tubes causing a CEL when I reached about 50 MPH , then would go out soon after.
Have you read the ECU codes yet ?
