Post

Hey everyone,

Ok I am thinking of creating my own website. Before I do, I want to know who here as their own and what did you guys to use make it (Geocities? Angelfire? Bravenet? etc.)?

One thing I want to do is use my own template rather than using a default template that is provided by the Geocities or whatever you choose to use. I wanted to have something with cars (Infiniti/Nissan preferred). If this is hard to do, I wont even bother.

I just want to know if some one can help me out here and point me into the right direction.

Thanks guys,

Later...

- Omar

I just set up my site http://www.gbauto.net

My host is a buddy from school, and he only charges 5 bucks a month. He also set up the message board for me for free.

If you're interested, IM him at tallguymw. Tell him allen sent you. ;)

Oh ya. and that's for as much space as you would ever need. I think it's like 87 gb...

Look into some HTML tutorials online. Its hard to make things look good, but easy to spit out some basic stuff.

I'm thinking about getting a domain for it sooner or later, but BU gives me space for free for now so. Yeah, I really suggest you learn HTML and CSS (cascading style scripts), along with some photoshop to make things look decent. The geocities, etc templates are crap, and if you dont know what you're doing I dont think you'll ever be that happy with what you're doin.

I dont use any programs to create my sites, I just type them out in wordpad or something and save as a .html file. Sometiems its easier to use something like html pad or whatever cause you can preview, but eh.

If you want to learn, I reccomend going to http://www.webmonkey.com and learning the basics. Get the HTML basics down, and make sure you learn about tables (very important!). Style scripts is the next step, but they REALLY help to make things look good.

If you ever want any help or anything, feel free to IM me.

I've made many websites, but what I think limits me is photoshop. I'm not very good with it yet, so my websites have never been to their full potential. Understanding the code is easy, learning photoshop is key for a nice website imho. Vengeance, your site looks like it's coming along pretty good!

i can provide free hosting for personal sites; something like: yourname.240sxonline.com

email me if you want the hookup. [email protected]

btw! if you have the newer version of MS Word, you can design your site with it and save as *.html

I've got a website through Geocities. http://www.geocities.com/brini_sue2002/

That is my site I started working on end of last year but I did have another one but don't remember what it was. *shrugs*Geocities aren't that bad; I was recommended by friends to go through them and do up one that does not cost anything.

werd. I used to have a tripod site a few years ago.. then their service started to royally suck. ..then I had to delete it when someone hacked into it and turned into a p0rn site.. :(
