I'm having trouble creating MP3 discs that my base factory radio will play. I have a '05 G35 Sedan without the Bose system.

Is it better to use MP3 files or WMA files? What are others using to encode the MP3/WMA files? Does it matter what software is being used to rip and/or burn the discs? I've used Windows Media Player to convert and burn discs, I've tried WimAmp for converting and Nero for burning. I can't seem to come up with a reliable combination.

Has anyone else had any luck?

What I'm ultimately trying to do is create discs packed with music from my existing audio cd's so I don't have to change out discs so often. With the 6 disc indash changer, I should (theoretically) be able to store TONS of music in the changer.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Wait. Does the G35 radio support MP3/WMA?

Is so then I personally would go with the WMA due to the fact that files usually come out smaller per given bit rate

Yes, new for '05, all G35 radios will play MP3 discs.

After much trial and error burning, I found that the problem I was having with the stereo reading the disc was because of the "extra" files that Windows stores in the music folders on the computer. After I deleted the album info file and the album art files, the MP3 discs work perfectly! It's incredibly convenient to be able to store 10 audio discs on 1 MP3 disc and load up the changer with 60 albums at once!

If anyone else is having issues creating discs, this should take care of the problem. Just create a directory on the MP3 disc for each set of songs (album) and copy only the MP3 files from the computer where you ripped the MP3's.

MP3, blah, when are people going to start making players that support AAC? And no, I don't want to buy an iPod and hook it up, I just want a stereo that can play the files...

Agreeing with GCBurn: Don't make a CD using a 'make a music CD' program just burn the files into folders on the CD, straight up data.

I believe some of Kenwood's HUs support the AAC file format.

Either way, the format you NEED to have support for is Flac. It's a true LOSSLESS compression codec.
