I had my pads changed and rotors turned a year ago and noticed there was a slight creak on the drivers side rear wheel. The noise is not continuous as some days it's completely quiet and other days very loud. The noise occurs when pressing and depressing the brake pedal at any speed including being completely stopped.

My thoughts are the rotor is creaking as the caliper presses against it. Although it appears the rotor on the creaky side is thicker than the one on the passenger side. One mechanic thinks it's the caliper itself and it needs to be replaced. Has anyone experienced this issue or have any suggestions?

I don't why the problem occurred after having rotors turned and pads replaced.

What pads did you get installed? If your callipers were moving the rotor then your wheel is loose. Could be an issue with the slider bolts.

I believe the pads are semi-metallic. I have to rule out the wheel being loose as the tires have been rotated several times. What could be the issue with the slider bolts?

Creaking noises are usually associated with two parts moving. The pads don't really move although I have experienced a sort of a creak when engaging the pads driving in reverse using organic pads. I never figured out what the issue was but I did replace the pads with ceramic pads. If the sliders bolts were loose it might creak. I actually can't really help you. This kind of issue needs someone to look at it.
