A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

I have a VERY annoying creak that comes from the cheap plastic used in the center console on my 2011 Sentra. I have pretty much concluded that is where it comes from, as just a slight press on almost any part of the console, including the radio, duplicates the creaking sound. I even notice it from time to time when I push the on button on the radio!!!!

It seems to lessen if the car is in freezing temperatures, or on a hot day if the car is sitting in the sunlight. Unfortunately, any other weather....and it's there with a vengeance.

I took it in to the dealer, and they claim they insulated behind it. There isn't one bit of change.

Anyone else have this issue, and have a solution? It's driving me to the point I'm ready to trade in the car for another make.

Whenever I've found noises in either of my Sentras it's bothered the hell out of me too lol.

I hunt them down and get some of that foam tape and put 2 or 3 layers on to tighten up the plastic pieces. It's worked great for years now.

06_blkout....

Some questions....
1. Do the dashboard noises in your Sentra come from the cheap hard plastics surrounding the radio, heater controls, cubby hole, etc.?
2. Do your noises vary based on climate (temperature and dampness)?
3. How do you take these plastic pieces off?
4. Is there any issue with the insulation causing overheating of the stereo?

Thanks!
